Suggestions for areas to also consider include: areas between the urban areas and the current Greenbelt, Forests, wetlands, class 1 soil areas, and historic rural landscapes. Consideration should be given to preserving/creating wildlife/flyway corridors, particularly through the Carolinian Forest zone where natural landscapes are severely endangered. The Greenbelt needs to be large enough to discourage commuting across it.

Regarding the balancing of development priorities with natural heritage preservation, natural heritage must come first. We cannot build our way out of the climate change and loss of biodiversity crises - redeveloping within our urban boundaries and drastically reducing greenfield development needs to become the first choice for this province.
