Please expand the greenbelt! And please retain all existing greenbelt areas and restore powers to the conservation authorities - and funding - so they can properly protect our forests, ravines, wetlands, and let's keep farmland for the future. We'll need it, our kids will thank us. To protect farmland we need intensification and better transit. We don't need highway 413 or the Bradford Bypass. The developers can make lots of money building within existing urban areas, we need hard boundaries because we'll need our natural areas even more in the future. Many people overlook the necessity of preserving forests, wetlands, and natural areas to both mitigate and help to adapt to changes to the climate. We will have more flooding and extreme weather in the future. And we need carbon sinks. We don't need more highways.
