I understand the importance of the data, but at one time this information was captured, reviewed, and planned by people in the field with a biology/wildlife/forestry background. I am not sure I agree a fee is the best method to encourage lawful hunting or get more people into the woods. I see this as a tax on the honest hunter and do not see a plan for how the new funding would be spent other than putting it in general revenues.

Underreporting is likely due to the lack of communication the Province does as a whole now, no notifications for many items that expire or require an answer by a date. I am not sure what the plan was when you discontinued all paper and any form of notification to a resident, especially around hunting many long-time hunters are late at adopting technology and yet everything you do is electronic.

Similar to this idea which I stumbled upon as part of a review of other items related to my business, saw this being slipped in, another fee/tax, we will stop reminding you of the need to report and increase our revenues thanks Mr/Mrs. Lawful Hunter.
