As a citizen of Ontario what the PC government did was not in the best interest of the environment or us. The cap and trade was a good program. It kept businesses in check with their green house gas emissions and helped pay for programs to help out us...the citizens of Ontario! You cancelled a good program to help people get better environmentally friendly products for their home. Now people will just go with cheap and in the end...that will not benefit anyone. We bought an EV in May. Did the incentives help us decide our purchase? For sure. But we are also in a position to be able to purchase an EV without the incentives. Many, many others are not. The incentives make them affordable for them. Ev's save a huge amount of money for people. I don't have to pay for an oil change, time ups, timing belts etc or gas. I have 7700kms on my EV and don't have to visit the garage till 12,000kms for a tire rotation. It costs me $1.80 to "fill" my car. It used to cost me $80. 10cents a litre reduction will not save people money. And it won't save the environment either. Politicians need to stop putting the environment last and start by putting it first. We lost tons of jobs from the cancellation of cap and trade from solar panel installation bussinesses. Solar Dynamics put ours on a few ago. Love them. We could disconnect from the grid and we just may with your policies. I did not vote for Ford because of your views on The environment. Prove me wrong please. Show me that you care about environmental issues by doing the right thing.
