We are disappointed that the government is not considering expanding the Ontario Greenbelt into Brant County. We recommend that the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing go further to protect the proposed “Bluebelt” (see attached map). This includes the Grand River watershed in Brant County, Wellington and Waterloo Counties, and the Paris-Galt Moraine. Include
ii. coldwater streams and wetlands when growing the Greenbelt,
iii. the headwater areas of the Grand River,
iii farmland, natural heritage, and headwaters, wetlands and waterways of the Grand River watershed in Brant County that abut the Ontario Greenbelt.
