As a millennial who has seen many of my peers struggle to find affordable housing, I support the proposal to allow as-of-right densification in existing neighbourhoods. Other initiates I would support:
-as-of-right allowance for commercial activities that are compatible with residential neighbourhoods (corner stores, daytime use service industries)
-mandatory multi-use paths in all new developments to allow to active transportation
-reduce or eliminate mandatory setbacks and lot sizes, since they inherently set a limit on density
-strengthening protections for heritage properties, so that if we’re going to replace existing structures with more dense ones, we’re preferentially tearing down the ugly ones
