Single family homes are not the solution to the current housing crisis. Higher density housing is nessisary, to allow for inproved community, mental health, walkability, and to cut congestion. Single family homes in the greenbelt is even worse, depriving ontario of unique advantage. Many communities rely on the greenbelt for a multitude of benifits, from mitigating the urban heat island effect, to flood management, clean water, and mental health. Single family housing results in higher costs per capita to provide services and leaves us farther apart and isolated from those we need. This plan is not in the interest of ontario, and appears to be a plan to funnel money to developers.
