This proposal is not in the best interest of current and future Ontarians.

The removal of environmental regulations is entirely antithema to the current needs to environmental protection and conservation.

Even if the Ford government didn't care about those values (...which seems to be the case), the removal of requirements and the opening of wetlands for housing doesn't address the housing crisis nor does it provide quality housing for future residents (i e. Building on wetlands will likely subject such residents to flooding and damage, particularly with worsening climate change).

The housing crisis will not be solved by destroying natural lands that can never be recovered. The housing crisis we have is not due to lack of land use. Our zoning laws don't work in favour of densification, which would make better use of infrastucture for greater amounts of people. Our housing crisis also has to do with the market's distortion from investor demand (domestic and foreign), as well as developers' keenness to exploit this market.

Why is the Ford government so intent on degrading environmental protections in favour of lining the pockets of developers, who will build low quality housing on flood-risk areas?

Do not allow this happen. It does NOT favour the average Ontarian.
