I strongly oppose this…

I strongly oppose this proposal. Building low-density housing far away from jobs will only create downstream problems for the province. We need housing near where jobs are. We need housing that won't put more cars on the road. As a policy solution to the challenges outlined in the proposal, this will not succeed.

Irreversibly destroying large swaths of protected land – along with the wildlife and ecosystems that inhabit them – is short-sighted and irresponsible. This proposal actively works against ecological diversity, natural beauty, and quality of life in Ontario.

This Government has previously committed to protecting the Greenbelt, and to see the Premier moving to do the opposite shortly after an election is disheartening. Please do not move ahead with this ill-conceived proposal.
