I fully support the proposals outlined relating to the preservation of the Massasauga in Ontario. This species is an important and unique component of Ontario's biodiversity, and preserving large and healthy populations is critical. Rattlesnakes have long been targets of human persecution throughout Canada and the United States, and the Massasauga presents an opportunity for us to do better by them. I hope that through sufficient government intervention both the Carolinian and Great Lakes - St Lawrence populations can be preserved well into the future.
