I am very disappointed at the proposal to open up the green belt for development. This is short sighted at best, and disingenuous and cruel at worst. This will not impact the housing crisis - increased income for the lowest paid public servants, support for young people to access higher education, control on rental prices, incentives to move to rural/remote communities would all be worth considering or expanding. This just hurts the future generations even more - and they are a generation that often sees very little hope in their future due to selfish decisions like theses made on their behalf.
