We have so much space…

We have so much space available and not being used that is already built. Why not use this space. Office spaces lay empty, full buildings that have already used the precious resources from the land, already have water and electrical hooked up. This makes sense! Why destroy land and habitats, and destroy valuable resources for the future when we already have space not being utilized.
