As per the Toronto Star today : They recently bought Greenbelt land that was undevelopable. Now the Ford government is poised to remove protections — and these developers stand to profit
It is totally unfair for big business to be the only people who obviously have insider info to profit from the Greenbelt expansion. Landowners on the same streets as urban boundaries must be included for rezoning. This process needs to be fair for all landowners. Our 20 acre parcel hasn’t been farmed in decades, is on the urban boundary, has natural gas hydro and sewers (recently approved) and these types of properties need to be allowed to be rezoned.
