The current proposal to steal 7,400 acres (11square miles) of critically important legacy watershed environment from Ontario and Canadian citizens is absolutely unconscionable and an outright lie to people who elected you to government.
Once you give this sensitive area up to development its gone for ever! And so is my family's and many friends votes for your government. People who thought you believed in the new PC direction of sustainability and effective new answers to housing and infrastructure.
Instead of robbing our children of this reserve take back poorly performing industrial land and ask developers to come up with creative multiple housing plans. Stop building out and crushing what critical environments we still have.
Finding other reserve land (which you won't identify because its not there) to make up for this action isn't even close to repairing the damage you will do. Hard decisions shouldn't be bad decisions, they should be solutions that don't continue to slowly eat away at our environment and the credibility of politicians who should be there for the benefit of future generations.
We ask you please pull back from this outrageous thinking and ask your brain trust to come up with some options you will be proud of and will benefit all residents of the Golden Horseshoe and Canadians.
