The Ford government’s reversal of protecting the Greenbelt, specifically affecting Ontario’s wetlands is not only appalling but reflects a general disinterest in effective climate change legislation. The vital role that wetlands play in the very air we breathe is being ignored. Ford is listening only to his construction and developer benefactors. This bill, in its current form, will not only NOT address the affordable housing issue but destroy wetlands that can never be brought back.
As a grandmother, I mourn for the wanton damage that will leave my grandchildren with a terrible legacy of a damaged environment. Shame on you, Mr. Ford.
