I do not support the removal of lands from the Greenbelt as housing development on these lands is harmful to our environment and unnecessary to meet housing demand. The claim that Greenbelt land must be developed to meet housing demand is specious. There is lots of undeveloped land that would be better suited to housing.
I believe the Premier of Ontario lied to voters, indicating that Greenbelt lands would be preserved.
We must preserve precious farmland in the Golden Horseshoe to ensure future food security for Ontarians.
We need denser communities to control costs. The government should be ensuring that housing is built where services - including roads, utilities and amenities- already exist in order to control pollution and costs.
