I am totally opposed to this legislation. The environment is critical to our future and loosing this Green Belt land is totally unnecessary. If you want to increase housing, affordable housing in particular then what is called "gentle density" is the approach. The "gentle density" approach will make better use of existing infrastructure, stuff that already exists and afford the new residents the option of transit and not require a car.
We need a common sense simple solutions that is informed by science not the destruction of precious green belt land.
Reducing development charges by passing them on to current owners is also a bad policy and something I am totally opposed to.
When I read current press and not the comment in both the Star and Globe "this legislation does not pass the smell test" either. That is to say it makes no sense and stinks
