I am beyond angry at the Ford government’s catastrophic plans to develop protected Greenbelt land. Not only are they liars who don’t care about the future of our province’s environment, their plan to build more homes faster is a just a thinly veiled attempt to deregulate an industry that is already severely lacking accountability and line his friend’s pockets with more money than they’d ever need. What new immigrants can afford these homes? Why isn’t there more investment in affordable housing in metropolitan areas that already have the infrastructure? It’s just so obvious that the Conservatives only care about making money and helping their friends make money. It’s an insult to act like there’s any other agenda. When we look back years from now, when our supply chains are even more dried up, our waterways more polluted, our skies thick with smog, species facing extinction, farmers and food suppliers fewer and farther between, and a society with on the brink of complete annihilation, we’ll be able to trace it back to this single decision that Ford and his government made and tried to slip past the public while he was busy dismantling worker’s rights and our education system. How can this bill be allowed? It will have unimaginable effects with no payoff, except more shoddily built homes that only wealthy people can afford. It does not address anything except advance Ford’s own personal relationships with corporate investors in his party. Disgusting and shameful and if it happens, will be the most devastating of all of Ford’s destructive policies. We must stop him or at least demand more transparency and time so that we can uncover the true motives here and wake the public up!! Hands off the Greenbelt like you promised!!!!!!!
