We truly are in a critical time for our environment. It does not help us, our children and grandchildren to ignore the warning signs that are there. We cannot for any reason continue to degrade our sensitive wetlands, and green spaces.
We need food for a growing population and for that we need farms. We have some of the best farmland in Canada in Ontario and we cannot pave it, develop it or otherwise spoil it.
The pro-active work that has been done in Waterloo Region to prevent further urban sprawl and protect farmland and green spaces needs to be respected. We have plenty of space and good planning taking place to build additional housing within our community.
Highways and urban sprawl are polluters, encouraging the use of gas guzzling vehicles.
We all need to stand up for the environment and repeal Bill 23.
