Please approve Waterloo Region's Official Plan Amendment 6.

The Region of Waterloo has wisely invested in urban development (such as iON, approval of high-rises, etc.) and this is a great step to protecting our green spaces, and combating climate change. It is important that continued growth occurs in the urban centers instead of allowing for continued sprawl. I really value having forests nearby that I can take hikes through, that there are farms nearby where I can get local produce, and friends/businesses close enough in the Region that I can bike or walk to. During pandemic lockdowns, we saw the huge benefit to our air quality that occurred after cars were taken off the roads. Let's continue to reduce emissions by encouraging residents to live in our downtown cores where they can live healthy, active lives and form tight communities with neighbours. Please approve the amendment to prevent further sprawl and protect our green spaces.
