This proposed legislation, Building More Mines Act 2023, must be withdrawn.
Mining development in Ontario must proceed only when:
* comprehensive plans for closure and rehabilitation are completed and in place,
* financial assurances fully cover environmental and health liabilities, and
* free, prior and informed consent of impacted Indigenous communities is achieved.
