For years (many more than Mr. Ford is likely to enjoy) I have been advocating that all the offending polluters, whether of greenhouse emissions or chemical toxins, or just plain old animal (including human) waste should be managed to prevent the contamination of our environment. Instead the rate of the CO2 load keeps increasing to the point where even I, at my advanced age, might expect to live to see the full destructive force of global climate disruption. It is galling to see the greedy, recklessness of our elected officials wilfully sacrificing the health and lives of their electors - not to mention their own families - by refusing to face facts or to do anything constructive to halt the slide toward catastrophe. Do you think that the victims you are creating will ever forget your betrayals?

There is still time to force the polluters to clean up the messes they have created; there is still time for governments to meet health & safety standards by building effective waste treatment plants and preventing the wholesale contamination of our surface and ground water resources; there MAY be enough time left for governments at all levels to reduce carbon and other greenhouse gases and prevent the devastation of climate destabilization; there just may be time for Canada to switch its economy over to a green one and reap the benefits of early adoption. That is if the ignorant and myopic politicians can see past their next election.

I love, and fear, for my grandaughter's future. Not even the premiers wealth can insulate his own descendent from the harm he wreaks now.
