Originally passed as a way to meet Climate Change mitigation targets, the Government of Ontario must provide a clear plan to control the affects of Climate Change. Cap and Trade clearly works for the government and industry. Climate Change is not a political issue. As a nation, we have implemented a system that works for all Canadians and it is imperative for Ontario to continue and irresponsible for the Government to cancel (especially without a plan to replace the current system).
From the former government "The cap and trade program is a central part of Ontario’s solution to fight climate change."
From the current government "Effective July 3, 2018, we cancelled the cap and trade regulation and prohibited all trading of emission allowances."
Inaction on Climate Change is not acceptable. Regressive politics affects this province negatively.
