I absolutely oppose the changes being brought forth in this proposal. It appears to me that not enough sound research has gone into the specifics that this proposal seems to be trying to blanket. More useless regulations are not what is needed. I seriously doubt that the additional burden this proposal will place on an already over-regulated outdoor activity will have any effect other than to create more frustration for outdoor enthusiasts. Bait dealers and camp owners who make their living from sport fishing will be particularly affected by this proposal, undoubtedly driving up operating costs. If there were specific issues regarding invasive species in any particular water body, then I agree, that changes are warranted. However to say that a problem exists throughout the entire province is ridiculous, and to put in place a needless blanket system like the one being proposed will solve nothing. To be beneficial, after proper research is conducted, specific areas of concern could pinpoint where changes would be of merit. Otherwise I see this proposal simply putting more un-needed and un-wanted regulations in place attempting to solve problems that do not exist.
