It is nothing less than…

It is nothing less than irresponsible for the new Government of Ontario to consider passing this legislation. Not only does it deprive the province of a needed source of revenue that had already been budgeted for, it destroys the $3billion in value that businesses had already spent on carbon credits. But most importantly it is a dereliction of the province’s responsibility to address one of the most pressing issues of our time for no better reason than Premier Ford is a reactionary anti-intellectual who cannot stomach being told facts by people smarter than he is. Fortunately, he is an outlier, as prior to his leadership earlier in 2018 there was an all party consensus in Ontario in favour of pricing carbon. I object to this legislation in the strongest possible terms.
