The high volume of waste proposed for delivery to and processing at this site is deplorable. Why not build a site close to a highway in the GTA? Residents there should process their own garbage rather than truck it down the 401 and then along country roads and through a small town before reaching the proposed site. Chatham-Kent and Lambton farmers who use these roads have enough safety issues with motorists; adding heavy truck traffic would only make issues worse. Furthermore, transporting garbage long distances increases carbon emissions; steps should be taken to reduce this problem rather than further exacerbate it. Let regions process their own garbage rather than force others to suffer the consequences of their wasteful actions.

On another note, the impact of the noise, lights, smells… on local residents must also be considered. The provincial government has done more than its fair share of bullying the average Ontario citizen. It needs to stop killing the morale of the people who long existed before this government came into power.
