I am very concerned about the development of a Regenerative Recycling Facility and Waste Dump outside the town limits of Dresden, ON
1. Environment concerns. Molly's Creek and the Sydenham River are at risk of contamination no matter how well they build it. The ecosystem extends far beyond the reach of their boundaries and are easily impacted.
2. Traffic concerns. I drive transport for a living and I understand the weights and routes if these trucks. I do not believe our current infrastructure can support the traffic volumes they are proposing. Those driver will be paid by the load and they will use the fastest route and York1 will hire the lowest bidder to haul their freight.
3. Economic impact. Dresden has developed a wonderful history of Black Heritage, Harness Racing, Night Markets and much more. Truck traffic and many more unknowns open us up to a soiled image
4. Health impact. No matter how much you try to contain construction waste, the old buildings they will be trucking in will contain hazardous materials. And being this close to town any town is very problematic .
5. Finally , why are they trucking this waste so far??? How does this create savings in recycling when you waste the savings in fuel and trucks. Why isn't the hiproducts of recycling kept closer to their end market.
