Dresden doesn’t want York 1s landfill 0.5 km from the town.

It will affect our water and land. Flooding is a real concern as we have seen Mollys creek and the Sydenham rise so many times with our heavy rainfalls and floods in the past.

We have two schools in Dresden that this landfill will be far too close to for safety. Traffic will jeopardize our roadways and safety for pedestrians. Farmers will be overwhelmed with hauling loads as this is a large agricultural community. There is no room for up to 700 trucks 24/7 and think we will be safe. We know better.

York 1 won’t be drinking our water where wells have already been detected with methane gas since their presence. York 1 doesn’t spend time fishing in the Sydenham River or having any regards for the endangered species in Mollys Creek. York 1 doesn’t see what we do in a rural area. York 1 only sees what will be the easiest route for a city problem that we didn’t create. We are being used for a landfill that doesn’t belong in this area and especially in this location.

We need to protect our water and wildlife. Say no to York 1. Our safety and the safety of our children and grandchildren depend on it.
