Erecting four 32-storey towers on the corner of Langstaff and Weston Road is the dumbest idea this city has had since the last dumb idea. With a conservative 12 units per floor and 2-2.5 residents per unit, that over 5,000 people and at least 2,000 cars that will be inserted into an already crowded intersection.
Have you seen what traffic on Weston Road and Langstaff is like right now? These are the proverbial parking lots during the morning and afternoon hours. There is a non-stop line of cars on Weston stretching from Highway 7 to Major MacKenzie...and, you want to add to that?
Where are these people going to work? How will they get to this work? Will they all walk or cycle? Or take the subway...oh wait...there is no subway or any significant mass transit nearby. Shop for their groceries (closest stores are either at Rutherford or Highway 7)? Send their kids to school?
This is insanity that is only looking at increasing the tax base without consideration of the long term impact on the surrounding, established communities that will be suffocated with more noise...more pollution...
