Kromet International Inc. - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an amendment to the Limited Operational Flexibility for an Environmental Compliance Approval (air and noise) No. 6165-B36JN6 for Kromet International Inc., a manufacturer of aluminum parts, including aluminum extrusion, cutting, and grinding, located in the City of Cambridge, Ontario.

The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include an aging oven and billet heater. The amendment includes new caustic tanks, rinse tanks, cyclones, and fans to aid with ventilation. Emissions to the air from this facility include:

• nitrogen oxides
• sodium hydroxide

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
