I support the proposal. I am often fishing on lake Simcoe and notice the sheer number of cormorants on the lake. I have noticed a population boom in the last decade. I can imagine the stress that these birds put on the fishing populations. Lire davantage

I strongly oppose the proposal to establish a hunting season for the double-crested cormorant. There is no scientific justification for this hunt. This wild native species has rebounded from historic lows in the 1970s and populations have been stable or declining since the 2000s. Lire davantage

They are killing island ecosystems We have a couple islands on the lake where there is no longer an ecosystem except colony of Comorants

Please consider an open season on the cormorant. There are very many and need to be controlled, just like any other wild creature whose numbers are out of control.

I do not believe these birds should be hunted but rather research done and best efforts made to save them. To open up hunting is an awful decision and one that reflects terribly on the government.

The purposed season is far too long and the limited far too large and without limit. There should be specific areas designated for hunting where the birds have reached overwhelming numbers or caused environmental damage. My fear is t this will become and murder spree.
