I strongly oppose the new proposal to list cormorants as "Game Birds". I kindly ask the government of Ontario to not be influenced by the opinion of biased groups who would benefit from the mass killing of cormorants. Cormorants are part of Ontario's natural environment and are native to Ontario. Lire davantage

From a self proclaimed outdoorsman, hunter, trapper and steward of the land, I applaud the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry for taking the initiative to implement a strategic plan to properly manage this species in our ecosystem. Lire davantage

Strongly opposed to proposed establish a hunting season for double-crested cormorants in Ontario! It really sounds like an authorization to exterminate a native species that is annoying to some people. Lire davantage

RE: Cormoronts---Let them be. They don't eat nearly enough to be a real threat to sport fisherman. The natural world faces so many threats today, no need to add another.

As a business owner, fisherman and avid outdoorsman... I fully support the proposal to open a season on Cormorants... I can only hope NYS does the same!

It is absolutely shocking that at a time when human activity is largely UNintentionally causing the extinction of many many species that Doug Ford would actively encourage the destruction of any animal – in this case cormorants, who seem to upsetting “property owners” and some commercial fisherman. Please don't do this. Please respect the evidence offered by biologists and conservationists. There is no need to cull a returning native species that helps control invasive fish and provide prey for returning birds of prey.

History has proven time and again that culling is not an effective form of management in nature over the long term therefore: - I oppose the proposal to list Double-Crested Cormorants as game birds. - I oppose the creation of a hunting season to kill these birds. Lire davantage

These birds are destroying our lakes and shorelines. Their excrement is toxic. Of something is done about these birds, every shoreline on every lake will be affected. I agree with them eradicated.

They are a nuisance and must be controlled. I fish for salmon on lake Ontario and the amount of cormorants is unbelievable. And after a decade and a half of trolling our beautiful lake I can confidently say the amount of baitfish present in lake Ontario has decreased year after year.

Please open up a season to allow legal hunting for these birds. Its not only the great lakes that are being affected. Many small pocket lakes in northern Ontario are being destroyed.

Time to reduce this parasite. They eat too many fish and destroy the habitat. Witnessed flocks by the thousands flying down the Lake Ontario shoreline none stop for 15 minutes
