This is a great idea. These birds are a huge nuisance in the Metro Toronto area. Nobody minds a few but the numbers are totally out of control. I regularly fish south of the Toronto Islands. At times, the water literally black with them. Lire davantage

The cormorant population is stable and doesn't need culling. It is ABSURD to consider allowing an open season on cormorants, with a HUGE bag limit, NO possession limit, and NO spoil regulation! Please do not cave in to the people pushing for this.

50 birds per day, per person, from the middle of March until December seems like a lot of birds. Allowing them to rot instead of picking them up seems to be detrimental to the environment.

Cormorants have plagued our lake (Nipissing) on the west end for decades now. We have seen over time how cormorants have displaced seagulls in nesting grounds and habitation. We've seen them in flocks of hundreds fishing destructively and thriving. Lire davantage

The cormorant population has exploded and is destroying our fisheries and many lands with their droppings and needs to be culled. I like your proposals however would suggest the season be year round and that holders of a small game permit be allowed to hunt them without a duck stamp.

As a resident on Sturgeon Lake and, observations on other lakes and islands, the damage to islands and fish populations as well as pollution caused by the cormorants is devastating. I applaud any measure to reduce the cormorant population is most welcome and needed. Lire davantage

I have seen these birds appear with 12" walleye and bass in the mouths. Their feces ruin and kill anything in lands on, they push other native birds from their already established nesting grounds. I am100% behind the open season of hunting these birds.

I agree 100% with a season on these pests. They decimate fish populations, ruin vegetation and trees etc where ever they roost, and are becoming so abundant that you sometimes see flocks of nearly 50 flying between water ways, followed by more flocks of similar sizes. Lire davantage
