Much overdue, these birds are a serious problem that decimate fish and baitfish populations. As an avid angler and soon to be hunter I fully support it and will be glad to participate!

I believe that there should be a season in which hunters can kill commorants with assigned rules and regulations. After being protected for soo long, they have now become a nuisance to anyone and everything living near water.

I think the control killing of these pest birds is necessary in the protection of our fisheries. They kill off millions of fish and these birds are out of control.

Relating to number two of your comments you say the hunt would take place in all of Ontario and in number three you sate the hunt would be in central and northern Ontario but not nothing mentioning southern Ontario .

I totally support this initiative as currently written. I also agree that carcasses must be disposed of. I suspect that might be difficult to monitor.

I totally agree with an open season on cormorants. They have destroyed one of the prettiest islands on Opeongo Lake, Algonquin park. The damage they are doing to the fisheries is an unknown but they do eat a huge quantity of fish.

These birds have been a large problem for years & should have been delt with long ago, I think an egg oiling program & nest disruption program should be also brought into this progam to speed this up a bit ..

As a dedicated small game licence holder, I am in favour of the new proposal to bring back the double-crested cormorant hunt. With proper consideration I believe this can be a successful tool in managing a healthy and prosperous population of cormorants.
