The continuation of the spring bear hunt should not be considered, in my option, because it will needlessly orphan bear cubs which is simply cruel, there are no other words for it. If this were any other country there would be a huge outcry about this practice. Lire davantage

There is NO evidence that a spring bear hunt will reduce the number of “problem bears”. Shooting bears in the spring, when they are vulnerable, hungry, and still have dependent cubs, is unethical. Lire davantage

Please do not bring this back. Hunting for sport is insanely cruel and unnecessary. There are other ways to boost the economy that do not cost the lives of innocent animals.

Do we really need to add to the cruelty of killing bears ? The Spring bear hunt causes bear cubs to lose their mother and die of hunger. Is this what the new Conservative government in Ontario really wants, just to please hunters?

Your proposal is atrocious for the animals. Leave the black bears alone. If there are too many in one location consider relocation. Frankly your proposal “sucks”. This government has not made one decent decision since it took office!

Please work to protect black bears. Say no to trophy killing and killing for sport. Those days are gone and Canadians want better. Protect habitat and levy very large fines on people who put the bears at risk. It’s absolutely the right thing to do. Photography not killing is the way to go!!

I am a resident in the riding of Ottawa West-Nepean. I do not support any initiative that permits hunting. I oppose the spring Black Bear hunt and hope that the Bruce Peninsula population is protected by removing all hunting, not just shortening the hunt period.

Hunting black bears in Ontario is not only is environmentally wrong and dangerous, but cruel. Spring is when many animals, including black bears, awake from hibernation. Often times with newborn cubs. When you kill a sow, her cubs are left alone. Lire davantage

It is disturbing that there are any sanctioned hunts of black bears allowed at all. The only beings who would support a spring hunt are the hunters and they act from a selfish position. I do not support the hunting of any animal. It is cruel and results in unnecessary suffering. Lire davantage
