I have never voted Conservative. However, the Liberals and NDP are completely out of my belief system now. Conservative or Greens are the only other option. You Conservatives though are going to further accelerate climate devastation and that is what is stopping my/our support of you!

I oppose the expansion of the wood pellet industry in Ontario. Cutting down mature forest trees and burning them releases carbon into the atmosphere. At this time, our urgent need is to protect our remaining forest area and expand it as much as possible.

So a main product of Ontario’s forest biomass industry is wood pellets. Wood pellets being marketed as a clean energy alternative, but wood pellets are dirtier than coal at the smokestack. Lire davantage

Wood pellets aren’t a sustainable alternative to coal, please consult non biased scientists before making the decision to switch to something that will contribute just as much to air pollution, deforestation and chemical usage. Thanks.

Cutting down primary forests that are huge carbon sequestrators and ecosystems for wildlife for pellets doesn’t make environmental sense. Focus must be given to greener options. Climate change is happening now … trees and green cover is needed global to slow this

Burning wood pellets to generate electricity is not a green alternative. The destruction of Boreal forests to make pellets just doesn’t make sense. Let’s look at valid green alternatives.

please stop unsustainable “biomass” wood pellets export to fuel dirty electricity! “wood pellets” is not a green solution -it sounds good but is dirtier than coal! we need trees to reduce hothouse gasses!

My comment as a Wildland ecologist is that cutting down trees to make pellets and Export them is probably the worst possible strategy if you are trying to contain global warming. Pellets should only be made from waste wood left over from other Timber processing.

Here are some comments on the Forest Biomass Action Plan (FBAP). In general, I think that it should be a 10-year action plan to coincide with Sustainable Growth: Ontario’s Forest Sector Strategy (FSS). Lire davantage
