There are so many arguements against this bill it is almost preposterous to state them. This bill is wildly unpopular with ontarian, dangerous and fiscially iressponsible. Please retract this bill for the sake of all ontarians.

This policy has nothing to do with gridlock and everything to do with demonstrating hostility and contempt for city-dwellers for the purposes of political pandering towards a rural or suburban audience. Toronto has a population of over 3 million. Does it have 3 million parking spots? 1 million? No. Lire davantage

This is completely unnecessary. We should be creating more bike lanes and finding ways to use cars less, not the opposite. I have to drive to work and back every day, due to distance, but would love it if I could bike instead. Do not remove the bike lanes. Make more bike lanes. Lire davantage

This legislation is Braindead nonsense. Cities receive a mandate from their constituents to build and maintain local transportation infrastructure, and the province has no business trying to manage municipal affairs.

This legislation is nonsensical. It will obviously lead to more traffic, not less. Also, I strongly disagree with the relaxing of environmental regulation to facilitate the 413 and Bradford Bypass (two projects of dubious value anyway).

Bill 212 is a dangerously regressive piece of legislation masquerading as a solution to traffic congestion. In reality, it's an assault on evidence-based urban planning, environmental protection, and local democracy. Lire davantage

Let municipalities do what they want with their own roads, and keep politics out of it. The Ontario government does not know the traffic/congestion struggles of each city/town, so stop trying to micromanage them. Lire davantage

This bill is a prime example of provincial overreach into municipal affairs and demonstrates that the Ford government would rather push outdated car-centric dogma instead of listening to urban planners. Lire davantage

"The [proposed] framework for bike lanes would enable provincial approval authority for the installation of new bike lanes on municipal roads, where the removal of a vehicle lane is required. Lire davantage

It's actually concerning to see the incompetence of our government on full display wasting time and resources trying to pass a bill like this. Lire davantage

I am seconding other comments of a similar vein that question the legitimacy and usefulness of this legislation. It appears to be an overreach of provincial power, removing individuality of communities by forcing approvals through a Provincial conduit. Lire davantage

I do not support this act. Removing bike lanes will make traffic worse and endanger cyclists. Is there any data guiding this polocy whatsoever? This is a heinous use of government money and resources. Do not remove any bike lanes!

The provincial government should spend its time and money trying to improve healthcare, housing, and education instead of meddling in municipal affairs. Asinine policy and a waste of money with no evidence to support it.

removing bike lanes is regressive, expensive and unjustified. it will not reduce congestion, but make it worse as bikers will be forced to use the same space as cars. Injuries and deaths of cyclists will increase. this is a useless waste of time and will actively make our cities worse. Lire davantage

This is an absurd plan that makes street more unsafe for all of us, pedestrian cyclist and driver alike. Absolute nonsense. Lire davantage

This is a gross overreach of Provincial control. I disagree with Provincial control of bike lane installation. No bike lanes should be removed. New bike lanes should be permitted where local input and values support this. Perceived and real gridlock will not be solved by removing bike lanes. Lire davantage

This is terrible legislation on multiple levels. First, it is an absurd overreach of provincial power. Why is the province wasting its time and resources micro managing municipalities? Second, ripping out existing bike lines is just a stupid waste of money. Lire davantage

Please do not do this. We want to contribute to downtown Toronto life, by being able to bike around the city safely. We bike with our kids everyday and are engaged citizens in the city. Lire davantage

Time, and time again, evidence has shown that overreliance on cars as the primary mode of transportation and the addition of more care lanes exacerbates traffic. Lire davantage
