This is a terrible act and makes absolutely no sense beyond putting money in (already full) pockets. To reduce gridlock, the solution is to invest in non-car options. That's it. Lire davantage

Less bikes on the road means more cars means more congestion and the longer it takes us to go from a-to-b.

Approving the Gridlock Act poses significant risks, especially since it won't actually alleviate traffic congestion as promised. Lire davantage

Approving the Gridlock Act is problematic due to its potentially devastating long-term impact on the surrounding environment. Lire davantage

We absolutely need more bike lanes and especially protected bike lanes. It’s terrifying to go anywhere biking downtown due to the absence of adequate protected bike lanes. Traffic would be reduced and streetcars could run faster if lanes were reduced and made into bike lanes!

People don’t understand what a good transit system that prioritizes pedestrians, bikers and public transportation looks like. Show it to them instead of prioritizing cars once again! I live by the Gardiner ramp off Lower Jarvis St. and it is an absolute disaster. Lire davantage

As a business owner along a bike route on College near Bathurst, I have noticed a significant uptick in foot traffic and customers since the lanes were installed last year. I believe this bill will hurt business and commuters throughout the province. Lire davantage

This bill by the Ford government is case of complete government over reach and obfuscation of its true intent. Lire davantage

This whole bill is not needed. To hide the 413 bypass of environmental checks and balances is grotesque and corrupt. Light rail or nothing.

Leave our bike lanes alone. Bicyclists are residents and deserve as much respect as motorists. The more bikes, the fewer cars, the less gridlock.

I agree that the provincial government oversees the bikes lanes. There is a proliferation of bike lanes affecting traffic and considering only local traffic, while in reality it affects commuters from multiple localities. Lire davantage

This action is the grossest kind of over reach made by a failing politician, one of the most corrupt governments Ontario has ever seen. Everyone involved should go to prison

I feel that this bill has some extreme impropriety - the provincial level should not be meddling in Toronto level affairs simply to pander to Northern Ontario voters. Lire davantage

Removal of bike lanes or even not expanding the bike network is dangerous for cyclists and a huge step back in urban development. The government should be focused on ensuring all commuters are safe and encouraging more individuals to use alternative modes of transportation. Lire davantage

I use Bike Share daily. I take about 2x1.5 metres at most on the road - compared to a car. The subway exists below, but doesn’t get me to exactly where I need (final mile). Please keep the bike lanes. I am also a licensed driver, and even this - obviously - will not get rid of gridlock.

To reduce gridlock, a better approach would to implement tolls on toads that would variety depending on level of traffic - eg higher during rush hour. The money can be re - invested in public transit and improved road maintenance Lire davantage

This is a colossal waste. The City government ALREADY collects data, does traffic studies, etc. This bill serves only to INCREASE BUREAUCRATIC RED TAPE, and will do NOTHING to improve traffic conditions in Toronto.

Removing bike lanes is not only short-sighted but incredibly dangerous. Do you think about the fact this infrastructure was created to save lives? Lire davantage

Removing bike Lanes seems like a pretty poor plan. The long-term issues of moving people around a dense City will not be helped in this way. Add many more GO train and GO bus runs into the city so that folks from the surrounding areas don't have to drive in if they don't want to. Lire davantage
