As an Ontario who's family is based in Richmond Hill, I made the choice to move to Downtown Toronto originally for school, and it was the best decision I have made because I get to live city life; walking and biking around town gives a freedom that driving does not match. Lire davantage

I’m astonished at how stupid this proposal is. Every single evidence-based study shows that when you increase transit and bicycle options, that traffic is reduced. It’s not rocket science, cars take up way more space per person and require more space between vehicles than bikes or buses do. Lire davantage

This is a terrible plan. There is no evidence that this change will improve gridlock. Improving gridlock is an unsupprted claim that will move Ontario back on the climate change mitigation front Lire davantage

This is a waste of time and money and a provincial overreach on something Torontonians have already voted for. Doug Ford is using the province as his personal fiefdom and the lanes that were removed were already blocked by parking on Bloor st west. Lire davantage

The priorities Ontario municipalities must include investments in bike lanes, safe sidewalks for pedestrians, and public transit. I do support investments which favour car transportation. Decisions made in 2024 must prioritize carbon emissions reduction.

Bike lanes are backing up traffic all over, and are mostly unused for the majority of the day, and empty even more during inclement weather or the winter. Lire davantage

Municipalities should not need the provinces permission to build bike lanes. They should be able to do so wherever they want.

The province should let municipalities plan their own bike lanes without provincial input.

What you're proposing is illegal. In Ontario bike lanes are not just for bikes, they're accessible lanes for disabled people. You cannot rip out accessible infrastructure in Ontario and not replace it with something better. Lire davantage

The province should be making policies that maximize road space use for people, not for cars. That means some streets, cars should dominate. But other streets, such as main shopping areas, pedestrians should dominate. Lire davantage

Bike lanes are necessary, especially on busy streets like the ones that this proposal looks to ban. Vulnerable road users Deserve and need safe lanes of travel to protect them against a 4000+ pound obstacle. Lire davantage

This is an immensely stupid piece of legislation. Don’t do this.

This Bill is just silly. The kindest thing I can say about the notion that bike lanes cause congestion is this, from H. L. Mencken: “[T]here is always a well-known solution to every human problem—neat, plausible, and wrong.” Lire davantage

Installing bike lanes while removing lanes for vehicular traffic rarely makes sense. I am a supporter of bike lanes, especially safe and separated lanes where possible but reducing lanes of vehicular traffic in growing municipalities is not the answer. Lire davantage

Please please please do not do this. Bike lanes save lives. Bike lanes help get people out of cars and reduce congestion. Bike lanes make our roads less dangerous and more pleasant for everyone, drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. Lire davantage

Please do not pass this misguided legislation. Bike lanes do not increase congestion, the opposite is often true, plus they improve road safety for ALL users, including drivers. Lire davantage

We need more bike lanes, not less! Obviously a well used bike lane can move more commuters than a car lane. Bike lanes need to be completely separate from the road for safety of all. Paint on the road is not acceptable. Lire davantage

This is the most shortsighted and ill-informed idea I have ever heard. Please for the love of god, listen to the research on this stuff (I am well aware that it is not a lack of info thing, but an ideological thing, but holy hell, this is so so so so so so so dumb).
