Please don't do this. Doug ford has my vote except if they proceed with this. It's incredibly short-sighted and incompetent to think that removing bike lanes or preventing new ones to be built will help with traffic. Lire davantage

We need better public transit, and less Cars. removing any bike lanes is counter to what we should be doing. and it will not make traffic any better either.

This is not only an incredibly silly waste of tax payer funds, but puts the lives of thousands of cyclists who commute each day at risk. Every cyclist is one less car causing gridlock. Lire davantage

Removing existing critical bike lane infrastructure in Toronto would be detrimental to the city and a prime example of major provincial overreach. Biking infrastructure improves not only traffic, but community safety and health. Lire davantage

This is a horrible plan. The government’s own report shows that removing bike lanes will INCREASE congestion. This is a short-sighted, under-handed attach on the environment, on municipal government and on the people of Ontario. Shame on you, Doug Ford.

Call it what it is: The “Person on a Bike has less value that the Person inside a Car, making your streets more dangerous for All, Act”

With data and research suggesting the opposite of this proposed plan, it would simply make cycling exponentially more unsafe. Perhaps focus should be placed on removing parking from main streets such as Danforth and St Clair before a plan which puts people’s life at risk is proposed. Lire davantage

The proposal to remove existing bike lanes from Bloor, University and Yonge St is so short-sighted, foolish, and truly a waste of time and money - which apparently is par for the course with this government. Lire davantage

Removing the bike lanes is an unnecessary cost which will the residents who bike in the impacted areas at higher risk. Additionally during the removal process it will create constructions delays. On top of that, adding more lanes does not decrease traffic or speed up the flow of traffic. Lire davantage

The Ontario govt leader has no business interfering with Toronto decisions . Leave the bike lane decision to Toronto. Bernice

Removing bike lanes will not save time. Look at the long term impacts. https://www.cbc.ca/news/science/bike-lanes-impacts-1.7358319 You (the province) should not be meddling in municipal affairs. Toronto city management has and is doing the right thing. Stay out of it. Lire davantage

This bill will make lives so much worse. I can't tell you how often I use the bike lanes and how dangerous it can be. Lire davantage

The province should not be decided on municipal matters. As a resident of Toronto, I don't think I should have a say on what streets should be look like in Windsor. In addition, biking is a very important form of transportation from a environment and health perspective. Lire davantage

Please don’t remove these bike lanes, cycling is by far the quickest and easiest way to get around the city, and removing these lanes is just going to make it harder and more dangerous for cyclists to get around. Lire davantage

Having provincial oversight in municipal bike lines is an absolutely ridiculous proposal. The Ontario government should not be involved in this process. There are much bigger issues for the Ontario government to manage that are in its purview already rather than which cities have bike lanes where. Lire davantage

The Oct 31st update to this proposal represents another example of the Ford government's abject failure to adopt anything vaguely representing evidence based decision making. Recently, an article published in the Toronto Star ("Do cycling corridors really slow traffic? Lire davantage

This is the worst kind of policy. Zero data, rushed through and an absolutely absurd disregard for municipal planning realities (not to mention municipal decision making & authority). Lire davantage

This government will NOT remove the bike lanes in the heart of the city. We will protest this to the fullest extent. Traffic will be shut down, equipment will be blocked, no work will be completed if this bill goes through. Lire davantage
