It is outrageous that the Ontario government is not only overstepping into matters of municipal jurisdiction, but that it is also doing so on the basis of nothing more than "I don't like seeing bikes speed past me when I'm stuck in traffic". Lire davantage

This bill is an overreach of provincial powers into an area that should be the responsibility of municipalities. Lire davantage

I live at Islington and bloor, and work at college and University. Since the install of the bloor bike lanes right to my door, I am safely able to bike to work. Without the Bike Lanes on Bloor st. I wouldn’t have a safe route to work. Bike lanes save lives. Keep the bike lanes!

This bill is a misuse of tax payer dollars and out of touch with the realities of proper city planning. Stop wasting time and settle real issues for this city like health care and education

I get it. Toronto’s traffic is terrible. I drive. Research shows the traffic is not caused by bike lanes. Bike lanes in fact help mitigate congestion. While I could drive my daughter to daycare, I instead bike, clearing up congestion. Lire davantage

I use the Bloor, College, and Harbord bike lanes every day to go to the UofT campus and back. My life would literally be in danger if I am mixed with general traffic. Lire davantage

This is ridiculous! Municipalities can and should make their own decisions about bike lanes within their boundaries. They have the local knowledge needed to make good decisions for their residents.

Do not remove the bike lane on Yonge, Bloor and University, especially University because it was just built. Removing them is a waste of taxpayers' money. I use the bike lane every day and strongly believe that they reduce congestion for everyone.

Stay in your lane. What right does the province have to legislate this? Not to mention, this is just idiotic and insanely damaging.

As a driver, I'm very happy to see dedicated bike lanes. They make me feel safe and confident I can avoid accidents easier. Bike lanes reduce the number of cars on the road which also contribute to safety. Biking is an environmentally safe way to get around in the city. Lire davantage

This proposal is not based in reality. The only way to reduce gridlock and save time is by providing alternatives to motor vehicle transport. Removing bike lanes is a step closer to further grid lock. Lire davantage

This provincial government is not acting in the interest of its citizenry, otherwise it would have long realized the absolute folly of its current plans for transporation in Toronto and the GTA. Lire davantage

As someone who does not bike and cannot do so, bike lanes (especially on Yonge and Bloor, near where I live) have done nothing but improve my life. Infrastructure that supports bicycling supports taking cars off the road, just as infrastructure supporting more frequent mass transit does the same. Lire davantage

The city of Toronto is made more livable BECAUSE of bike lanes. Not everyone can afford a private car or can stand spending all day on crowded public transit so having the option to get around the city with relatively more safety THANKS TO the bikes lanes is important. Lire davantage

Please do not remove any bike lanes. Bike lanes actually improve congestion and reduce gridlock, not the other way around. Lire davantage

Please base your policy actions on real science and data. There has been no analysis done to see what kind of effect these bike lanes are having on traffic. A study in 2011 found that removing bike lanes on Jarvis actually INCREASED traffic. The same thing will happen here. Lire davantage

I want and need bike lanes to not be killed on my way to shopping amd work. Go look at montreal and see how to design better. Educate cyclists and drivers about safety rules and enforce.

I am against Ontario Bill 212 (Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act, 2024) for several critical reasons. The proposal to remove bike lanes as a means of reducing traffic congestion is fundamentally flawed and unsupported by evidence. Lire davantage
