I am writing to express my strong opposition to Bill 212, which introduces unnecessary provincial oversight on local transportation infrastructure. This bill undermines local governments' ability to create effective transportation options. Lire davantage

The provincial government shouldn't be so intrusive in municipal politics. They did not accurately survey the residents of the regions they hope to remove bike lanes for. I have used the Bloor street and Yonge bike lines to get to work regularly when the weather has permitted it. Lire davantage

If the premier wants Ontarians to sit in MORE TRAFFIC, pay MORE TAXES, and have unsafe road conditions, he should continue to pursue this bill.

I just put my car away and bought a bike so i can remove my car from the road and create less traffic. I rode my bike every single day since May 2024 I need the bicycle lanes so i can say safe from car drivers and not be killed.

I severely disagree with the proposal by the Ford government to remove bike lanes. As someone who both bikes and drives in the city, I find that the bike lanes improve road usage for both groups. Lire davantage

This is ridiculous! Is there a reason other than corruption as to why more money is being spent on removing accessible infrastructure? Removing bike lanes will increase congestion for cars and KILL drivers, bikers, and pedestrians alike with increased collisions. Lire davantage

This is stupid. Bikes transport more people per square meter of road utilization than car lanes. Additionally, these bike lanes do not reduce car lanes on these roads. Lire davantage

This bill is a horrendous overreach by the provincial government, why does the provincial govt. decide what cities get to do with their streets? Lire davantage

I am strongly opposed to Bill 212. We need more bike lanes, not fewer. Personal vehicles are incredibly inefficient relative to bicycles. They take up more space, put more wear and tear on our already-crumbling roads, and are harmful to the environment and individual health. Lire davantage

I am a health care worker. I cannot afford to drive and, since the new bike lanes were put down during the pandemic, have been biking as my primary mode of transportation all year round. Active transportation has changed my life. Lire davantage

This feels less like a way to fix gridlock and more like a way to take out frustration on people riding bikes. Bike lanes enable people to engage in public transit, which REMOVES cars from the road, thus improving traffic congestion. This won't improve gridlock at all.

A step taken backwards. City need more proper bike infrastructure not less. This won't solve gridlock and will push cyclists on to the road with cars increasing number of accidents and fatalities. Lire davantage

I am absolutely disgusted that a provincial government would choose to rip up by claims to supposedly save time for drivers of other types of vehicles. Lire davantage

Ripping up existing bike lanes will make traffic worse and also increase the danger to cyclists. Bike lanes are good for traffic and cyclist safety and we should be increasing them. Like be so for real.

I wholeheartedly endorse the proposal to remove the entire bike lanes on Yonge, Bloor and University. I can't believe the City of Toronto thinks they are doing anything to improve gridlock by creating bike lanes on major streets.

This proposal will not only *not* decrease traffic issues, it will exacerbate them. This has been well established by the actual experts. It would be great if, for once, the provincial government actually heeded expert advice on at least one issue. Lire davantage

I live in a suburb and always want to commute to my closer go station by bike but guess what there are no dedicated bike lanes. I wouldn’t wanna risk my life riding alongside cars, so guess what, I end up driving (owning a car is so expensive). Lire davantage

As a Toronto driver, I feel traffic flows better when I don’t have to worry about conflicts with bikes. The bike lanes have made driving less stressful by removing conflicts. Lire davantage
