Our environment matters more than your highway. Dismissing the land, the animals and nature is disturbing and awful. Reducing gridlock is not as important as clean air, animals who help our ecosystem thrive, real food we need space to grow. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS HIGHWAY IS WRONG!!!

This is another misguided and unwelcome move by the provincial government to override municipal authority. The province is offering no data to support the concept that bike lane conversion meaningfully impacts transit times. Bike ridership is relatively low, in part, because it is unsafe. Lire davantage

I am a downtown Toronto resident who drives daily in the city. This bill infuriates me on so many levels. I am strongly against the passing of this bill and here are my key reasons: Lire davantage

I strongly oppose Bill 212. This represents a governmental overreach on the province's part, and is completely contrary to the principles of "small government". This is also completely contrary to the provincial government's commitment to red tape reduction. Lire davantage

I am puzzled and disappointed about this piece of legislation. The government has not provided any concrete data and evidence that removing bike lanes will solve traffic congestion in cities like Toronto. Lire davantage

Once again, the Premier and his suburban cronies (including the Minister of Transportation) demonstrate NO awareness of the local needs of Torontonians or respect for municipal processes and autonomy. Lire davantage

Im enraged my tax dollars will be wasted to remove bike lanes that don’t increase traffic! Your government is ignoring the evidence that bike lanes don’t reduce congestion! They make the roads safer for cyclists and reduce traffic! There is plenty of evidence from Canada and beyond.

The removal of bike lanes will only add safety risks and likely increase congestion with both the initial construction phase, as well as having bikes and cars share the lane (default if there is no bike lane). Lire davantage

This is a short sighted and pathetic plan. It will not make traffic better and will likely make it worse. Worst of all though is that it will make cycling even more dangerous for cyclists. Lire davantage

The recent tabling of Bill 212, the Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act by Transportation Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria is a troubling escalation in the Ontario government’s push for Highway 413. Lire davantage

The bike lanes are useful in high volume areas. Please don't remove the bike lanes on Bloor between Runnymede and Pape. That is a section of Bloor that has a high volume of bike traffic and should not be an artery for cars. Lire davantage

Get rid of the bike lanes on Bloor Street. 1. They create a lot of gridlock all day long 2. Are unsafe for cyclists because drivers can’t see cyclists 🚴‍♀️ when turning because of the location of parked cars 3. They Collect a lot of debris and garbage Lire davantage

It has been chaotic ever since the bike lanes were introduced in my neighbourhood of Bloor West Village, and made worse whenever the TTC shuts down the subway line, forcing shuttle busses onto what is already a congested stretch of road from Old Mill past Keele. Lire davantage

Why is Doug Ford trying to force the people of Toronto to live in the manner that people in the suburbs want to live in. The People of Toronto like to have safe streets and options for moving about. Lire davantage

We fought long and hard to improve our city and make it work for everyone. This government is going to waste excessive money to take us backwards. This is pushing long since debunked urban planning policies. Big government conservatives.

I thought we are trying to reduce red tape? Why are we introducing another red tape? Bike lanes should be a municipal/local concern. The province does not need to be involved in local area concerns. Lire davantage

We need to get back to democracy in Ontario . Doug Ford just does whatever he feels like hides it from us the people he works for and answers to nobody. The laws must change via the way Bills are pushed through in secrecy. Lire davantage
