Allocate this funding towards improving our public transit system. Add more underground subway lines and more stops. I fail to understand how adding 3 lanes of traffic will reduce traffic in any significant way, factoring in construction costs and delays.

I own Sweet Pete’s, a bicycle shop on Bloor Street near the corner of Brock Avenue. I am troubled by the proposal in Bill 212, The Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act, 2024, to remove bike lanes on major thoroughfares, including Bloor Street. Lire davantage

If the government were actually serious about addressing traffic flow, it would encourage higher density residential development, invest heavily in public transit infrastructure and increase subsidies for public transit to internationally comparable levels, allow for congestion pricing and road toll Lire davantage

This Bill is short sighted due to the comparisons that are being made between the driving and cycling infrastructure and their respective use levels, when both the amount of time and money invested in these two aspects of infrastructure vary wildly. Lire davantage

Requiring municipalities to get approval for installing bike lanes that would remove a lane of traffic is going to slow down their already slow process and is an overstep of the provincial government to control municipal responsibilities. Lire davantage

Biking is so important for my mental health, please keep the bike lanes.

Leave existing bikes lanes alone and keep adding new ones! Stop wasting taxpayer money, time, and attention with distractions away from building people-first, walkable, public transit-first communities! Stop making everything political and cut the bullshit!

It's so painfully obvious how much more motivated Dougie is to quickly overhaul things that are minor inconveniences to him. LCBO more than 1km away? Beer available on every corner! Driving on a road built above a massive subway line? Better remove the bike lanes! Lire davantage

Reducing bike infrastructure will increase the risk of harm and death to people who choose to or must bike to get around. Given how much space is already given to supporting vehicular traffic, we need more bike infrastructure not less. Lire davantage

Please remove these bike lanes as quickly as possible. What idiot thought that putting bike lanes on a major street was a good idea? Better yet let's put them where the subway runs so if it goes down, the buses are also stuck in the traffic, complete stupidity. Lire davantage

I drive and cycle, it is a lot safer with dedicated bike lanes, Drivers are getting more aggressive and all this will do is cause more gridlock as cyclists will go onto the road.

Major overreach of jurisdiction and an overall climate-change and evidence-denying policy.

I am not in favour of a proposal that is proposing the removal of bike lanes. I believe that bike lanes help people, especially people who do not have access to cars. Bike lanes also make biking safer for the bikers.

I commute daily to work by bicycle and feel safer with the dedicated bikes lanes that we have on bloor. It’s normal for big cities to have lots of traffic, I’m not convinced this will have a noticeable impact.

Bill 212 is short-sighted in its thinking and backwards in its philosophy. Bike lanes were conceived of and installed in order to provide alternatives for commuters so that they could SAFELY choose an alternative to driving. I am one of those commuters. Lire davantage

I support removal of bike lanes from Yonge street. The word” safety” seems only to apply to the bike riders. But once the late fall/ winter months arrive, the ability of bikes to see pedestrians, the cardrivers to see pedestrians and pedestrians to see the bikes is seriously COMPROMISED. Lire davantage

Stay in your lane! The municipal government should maintain the authority to act unilaterally on municipal issues. Bike lanes are for long-term benefit and thus should be maintained to reduce the need for cars.
