I live in the Lawrence and Eglington riding in Toronto and commute to work in the downtown core by bike - I also drive a F-150 which makes me a pretty unique commuter cyclist. Lire davantage

This is a huge detriment to cyclists! Folks who bike are helping the congestion. We know the stats- the solution to congestion is not increasing lane ways or highways it’s investing in non-vehicle transportation like public transport and bicycles. Lire davantage

This is a very bad idea in my opinion. The provincial government should stay out of municipal affairs and let the municipalities make these kinds of decisions. They are best positioned to decide what works best. Lire davantage

These bike lanes are used by many people every day, and have been a great benefit to the city! I urge you not to go through this or any other legislature that would eliminate them.

I am strongly opposed to multiple facets of this bill because they are based on partisan politics and not on evidence-based reasoning. Lire davantage

Removing bike lanes in Toronto is a short-sighted decision that will have serious negative consequences. It will increase traffic congestion as bikes would be forced into car lanes, worsen air quality, and discourage people from choosing sustainable modes of transportation. Lire davantage

This is possibly the dumbest, most backwards proposal I've seen in a while. If they're not on the sidewalks (illegal), and there's no bike lane for them, they're on the road and blocking cars, as well as being endangered. Where is the thought to this?

"please just one more lane will fix the traffic problem, just let us force bikers onto the road with the cars!" - ravings of a mad government Use your heads. Or the experts.

I am a long-time resident of Toronto and a regular cyclist. I have been glad that over the past several years, my transportation options in this city have included bike lanes allowing me to cycle quickly and safely over much of the city. Lire davantage

I am opposing the new bill 212. The province needs to support cities to deliver their goals and objectives on net zero, sustainable, healthy and safe communities. Listen to all these qualified people surrounding you. People who have spent their life learning, analyzing and assessing options. Lire davantage

Bike lanes are necessary in downtown Toronto, removing bike lanes for more car spaces is a inefficient and ineffective behavior. We need restrict cars in urban cores instead of encourage driving.

I am strongly opposed to Bill 212. As a daily cyclist and a Toronto resident, I rely on bike lanes to commute safely and efficiently. By choosing to cycle, I’m helping reduce congestion and pollution, making the city more livable for everyone. Lire davantage

Thank you for your time. I do not agree with this proposed Act because I believe it is the wrong approach for reducing congestion and improving safety in the city. Lire davantage

This bill will heavily harm cyclists in Ontario by removing bike lanes. Almost every bike lane is created by removing a lane of traffic so I'm not sure how Ontario is supposed to keep any bike lane after this. Lire davantage

I strongly object to Ontario Bill 212 (Reducing Gridlock, Saving You Time Act, 2024). I live and work downtown Toronto (for 20+ years). Prior to this, I lived in a suburb of Toronto but worked or travelled downtown Toronto. Lire davantage

bike lanes protect bikers and cars, i don't feel confident riding my bike without a bike lane, i like right off yonge and carlton and i think there need to be more bike lanes not less

Bike lanes are positive for urban centres. They create safe places for active, environmentally friendly transportation, which is desperately needed in a warming climate. Lire davantage

I am writing in protest against Bill 212. Passing Bill 212 with the framework to remove bikes lanes is anti-environmental, and lethal. Adding red tape by imposing applications to build protected bike lanes on roads slows down progress to environmentally sustainable future. Lire davantage

This is a ridiculous proposal. Cyclists are road users too, they pay taxes and have the right to safe transportation in Toronto.
