So, you're coming up with a process to determin what lanes will be removed. This process does not exist yet, but at least 3 toronto bike lanes will for-sure be removed regardless of what process you come up with, or what the data on congestion you do not have yet shows? Lire davantage

This is a ridiculous waste of money. These bike lanes were just put in and now we're taking them out again? The construction to remove them will be its own source of congestion for years too, at the rate this city builds things. Lire davantage

This proposal seems like a massive step backwards and a huge barrier to progress in building safer streets with more options for travel. The newer bike lanes have been fantastic for improving biking in the city. Lire davantage

Myself and my three children live on Shaw street and we use the Bloor bike lanes regularly to bike to sports practices and the grocery store. They are amazing! Please do not remove them!

As a transportation professional in Ontario, specifically one that's working in active transportation I want to underscore the disdain and anger from people in our profession. Lire davantage

The Premier's focus on fiscal irresponsibility directed towards Toronto is ridiculous. My municipal tax dollars should not be spent both installing bike lanes only for provincial tax dollars to override the city's planning processes. Lire davantage

I don't think removing bike lanes would reduce traffic issues. Please improve public transit, we should have more buses and trains, fewer cars the better.

I am a home owner in Seaton Village in downtown Toronto. While I have a car, my primary mode of transportation and commuting is by biking (especially with the proximity of the Bloor bike lanes and University to go into the financial district). Lire davantage

I feel strongly that the Bloor bike Lanes should remain as their vital length to travelling east west in Toronto by bike. By removing the lanes, you're only going to add car traffic to the streets. This is a foolish proposition to garnish votes and doing so will lose mine.

Taking out bike lanes that have already been installed and paid for is a gross misuse of taxpayer funds, and will not help traffic. In the absence of bike lanes, cyclists will not get off the road -- they will ride in the lanes with the cars, making the road less safe and increasing congestion. Lire davantage

This is a backwards decision, one that will be regrettable in years to come. It will just force bikers to share the same lanes as cars -- Putting the bikers in danger and also slowing down traffic. Lire davantage

I am strongly opposed to the province introducing such legislation that interferes with municipalities' ability to make decisions relating to local concerns. Lire davantage

Removing bike lanes is idiocy. They do not contribute to traffic congestion. If anything, they remove it by getting people out of cars. Maybe look at improving transit infrastructure so that people have an alternative to driving. Lire davantage

The restrictions on bike lanes are not evidence based. This is a poorly thought out proposal. Ontarians want to achieve a greener, healthier future and want their communities to be connected so that not every trip to school, to the store, or to work has to be taken by car. Lire davantage

I am devastated that our politicians don't care about cyclist safety, as someone who has been seriously injured by a careless driver. Lire davantage

Bike lanes don’t always hurt traffic, and getting rid of them won’t stop people from cycling. It will just make it more dangerous for them to do so and we already have more deaths in the city than should be allowable. Lire davantage

Bike lanes built in Toronto currently help the environment by removing cars from the road. Removing bike lanes increases emissions. This law can not go forward knowing that we need to get cars off the road because of climate change

I am shocked and angered to hear that the conservative government is planning to spend tax-payer money to remove brand new and life saving bike lane infrastructure when so many other aspects of our province are in shambles, most notably our healthcare system. Lire davantage
