This is an incredible overreach of provincial government. Why should the province control where a city puts its bike lanes? How is that provincial responsibility? Lire davantage

I am frankly baffled by Bill 212, which makes no sense to me on a practical level. Lire davantage

I've lived in the city for about 8 years and started biking as a means of transportation in 2023. Previously I had been intimidated by biking as I was concerned about my safety. However, I noticed that the city had improved bike lanes significantly. Lire davantage

I am opposed to the removal of the bike lanes. After a few weeks.of adjustment the traffic is the same as before. I believe there will be a greater risk to life as before for cyclists in Toronto without a safe place to ride.

This is not forward thinking at all. The population density of Toronto is increasing. Bikes keep cars off roads. We will have to move to more walking/biking which is safer in higher density areas. Health, Safety, efficiency. Bikes are the future for Toronto. Lire davantage

Safe cycling infrastructure is so important to all Torontonians. So many of the people I talk to in my life will only cycle on Toronto's streets that have designated bike lanes, because it's often just too dangerous to bike among the cars. Lire davantage

This whole plan will only make things worse. The problem is not the lack of roads but too many cars which simply can’t fit inside the city of Toronto. Lire davantage

Bike lanes are an essential part of this city. I drive, cycle, and take transit and when I cycle, my commute to downtown is the fastest. I know that when I bicycle I am helping decrease congestion and pollution. Bike lanes create a safe and quick mode of commuting. Lire davantage

I strongly believe that removing bike lanes to facilitate motor vehicle transportation is a backward step. Bicycle transportation is growing worldwide, yet Ontario isn’t listening to Toronto municipal officials and the public, only pandering to motorists, and keeping Toronto in the past.

I am not a biker myself, nonetheless I strongly disagree with the removal of the bike lanes, this is not the solution to gridlock. As usual Ford and his cronies do not listen to anything that speaks against their fait accompli!

I support keeping our bike lanes — removing them would compromise the safety of the city’s cyclists and decrease efficiency on our roads. I work at an ER where we see many cyclists who get injured from lack of proper infrastructure. Do not get rid of our bike lanes.

Bill 212 is an irresponsible waste of taxpayers money. bill 212 ignores the science and statistics proving the value of bike lanes for local business and a reduction in traffic. I will vote against a conservative government that passes this law.

I have two major concerns. The premier appears to be basing his views and making decisions on personal observations of his travel and not based on facts or an open debate and on the pros and cons of active transportation in a large city. Lire davantage

Doug Ford and his egregious overreach must be stopped. Despite scientific evidence showing that bike lanes improve congestion, safety, health, transit time, business, accessibility, to name only a handful of benefits, he’d rather think he’s saving ten minutes on his commute. Lire davantage

Provincial overreach again. Let the municipalities make these decisions. It's happening at all levels. Take a look at the new TOC proposal for Oakville. Ford and his buddies.... unethical and far from democratic!

I believe prioritizing cars will lead to more harm to cyclists. Many services like Uber Eats and other delivery services depend on cyclists, putting riders at greater risk of being injured in confrontations with larger vehicles. Lire davantage

Bill 212 will not solve congestion and will put lives at risk. It breaks my heart every time I hear about another tragic cyclist's death. Every time there is news of a cyclist dying, my mother will check in on me, worried that it is me. Lire davantage

Please think about the people who use the roads for biking and their lives that hang in the balance of your decision. We all need to get to work and home safely and alive. Our lives matter just as much as a person who decides to drive a vehicle. Lire davantage
