As a resident, driver, and cyclist of Toronto, I am strongly opposed of the provincial government’s plan to remove bike lanes. Safety of is top of my concern. Having parked cars, cyclists, cars sharing narrow roads in Toronto is simply not safe for everyone.

The city has already paid for those bike lanes. I refuse to allow my tax dollars to be used to undo something that has already been paid for and isn’t broken. Lire davantage

Removing the bike lanes is a costly mistake that will degrade public safety and lead to more gridlock not less. Reliable current data shows this. Bike lanes are a more efficient, cheaper and healthier form of transport that should be promoted. Lire davantage

You really need to think about changing roads again and again especially since now you had committed to bike lanes or no bike lanes in certain areas. Improve public transit especially instead.

I do not support this removal of bike lanes and I do not support legislation that takes away peoples land ownership rights and handing power to the government to build highways over people's homes

removing existing bike lanes and impeding the construction of new ones only puts cyclists further at risk, and is a major waste of money

I believe that removing bike lanes will create more exclusivity and less inclusivity especially with Canada and Ontario stand for multicultural, inclusivity and community. Taking that away only will create much more friction and coldness to a less accepting society. Lire davantage

I find it rich that Premier Ford laments the Federal Government for "jurisdictional creep" (when the Feds gave Housing monies directly to municipalities) while proposing to rip out municipally-approved bike lanes as a vanity project. Lire davantage

This wishful legislation considers the wants of the few over the needs of the many. Unfortunately it will result in more time spent in teeth-gritting gridlock and suffocating pollution. Lire davantage

This bill is just terrible. See links below. Mayor Chow and Toronto City Council formally expressed their opposition to Bill 212, and asked the province to withdraw the proposed amendments and work collaboratively with cities to address congestion and road safety? Lire davantage

It is beyond that this government is considering doing away with the bike lanes. Are you ignorant to what cities all over the world are doing? They have or are increasing bike lanes. Are people in cars superior to people on bikes? SMH

I strongly oppose this proposal. There is no evidence from research on traffic and city planning that suggests reducing bike lanes will move more people faster. Indeed the opposite is true. Lire davantage

Bill 212 is an act of gross jurisdictional overreach. It will not reduce congestion, it will compound it. The cyclists and food delivery riders will still be there after the lanes have been removed. They will occupy space in the lanes that you intend for cars. Lire davantage

Schedule 2 of Bill 212 is a gross government overreach. This is an attempt to steal land from individuals and give them no recourse. Schedule 3 is just atrocious. Environmental assessments are there to protect us the people just as much as it is there to protect wildlife. Lire davantage

It’s very important to keep as many cars off the roads as possible with a combination of good transit and making it safe and easy to cycle. One of the few good things to come out of COVID was the acceleration of bikes lanes. It would be a huge mistake to reverse all that good work. .

I am strongly opposed to Bill 212, and in particular, the provisions requiring provincial approval of new bicycle lanes and removal of existing bike lanes on Bloor Street, Yonge Street, and University Avenue, because: (1) It represents an unwarranted intrusion onto municipal responsibilities Lire davantage
