1) revenue was put to good use: 74% of the revenue went to public services
2) we need to charge green house gas emitters which will result in decreasing green house gas emissions

I find it incredulous and embarrassing that my provincial government would withdraw from the Federal Government's carbon tax plan without having announced a viable actionable alternate plan to tackle climate change in light of the UN Panel's report released earlier this week.

I don't believe you should be cancelling the cap and trade plan without anything to replace it. It's nice there's a requirement to replace it with something but I think it's irresponsible as there is no plan for the interim and no timeline for how long the interim will be.
At a time when the climate is in such dire straits we should be increasing the carbon tax not abolishing it!! The UN has said we have 12 years to make a change otherwise there will be a severely negative impact on humanity.
