Now is the time more than ever that we have to pay attention to climate change. Nothing is more important. What is the purpose of everything else if we do not have a habitable planet. This is so sad! The government in power overthrows the work of previous government. Such a waste of time, resources, and tax payer's money. So what if another government comes in power next time? Probably this will be overthrown too! We're just moving around the circle and it is so wasteful.

Ontario needs carbon pricing. The economy of Ontario will be adversely affect by the elimination of cap-and-trade, including the penalties that taxpayers will be forced to pay for its elimination. Extreme flooding, severe drought and deadly storms will take billions out of the economy. Read more

Please explain: if abolishing the cap-and-trade program is done under the banner of lowering the gas prices, why not just abolish the part where it increases the gas price and leave the other revenue-generating and value-adding pieces of the program in place? Such as GHG reduction targets, etc.?

I don't believe the current cap-and-trade legislation should be scrapped without equal or better legislation put into place immediately. Although it might be costly in the near future, the cost of not halting or reducing climate change is far greater. Read more

I am an Ontario resident and am opposed to Bill 4. I am thankful to receive the opportunity legally granted under the Environmental Bill of Rights to comment here, an opportunity I know that Premier Ford initially chose to ignore and only granted following legal action. Read more
